My MasterTow has surge brakes so no need for a controller at all. My steering wheel locks and Iíve not received any errors after unloading the car.
Just my experience.
I towed my Acura MDX AWD for thousands of miles with no problems, the owners manual indicated it was flat towable just like the Honda CRV's. Just so you know that there are some AWD vehicles that are flat towable.
