My wife has reached I want a new to me car again. Her 05 ford freestyle is no longer good enough for her highness cant seem to keep anything longer than 2 years. She is looking at a Mazda cx9 not sure of the year my best guess is around a 09. Does any know if these cx9 can be flat towed? If so is there anything special that I have to have the dealer setup?

I would find one and look at the owner manual. I thought these shared the same chassis as the Ford edge. If they share the same transmission, then you would be ok. If Mazda uses their own transmission then im not to sure. But I would want to look at a owners manual and talk Mazda customer support also.
they can not be towed Have one owners manual say no to 4 down the trans axle is not designed for towing 4 down
I was doing some quick googling and it looks like they share the same engine with the Edge but uses an Aisin F21 transmission. Thus why your manual states no 4 down.
