Can a Duramax be flat towed?

Iím looking at buying an older DP motorhome, and want to flat tow behind it. I have a 2011 Honda Pilot and a 2008 Duramax 2500 HD 4x4. What do I need to do to flat tow the truck, from what I have seen the Pilot is out on being flat towed. Thanks for the Help!!!

Look under Recreational Towing in your vehicle instruction book. It will tell you the correct steps to take to flat tow your Chevy/GMC.

You didn't mention which DP you're considering. the duramax 4x4 is a heavy vehicle. Can the coach handle the additional weight? some older DP's have a 5000 tow capacity.

The Pilot is definately out and the Duramax may be too heavy for your DP.

I would say as long as your DP has a 10K+ tow rating. I drove a 07.5 3500 for 186K mi., but never tried to flat tow it. I'm pretty sure the transfer case had a N on the knob, unlike my current F250, which definitely cannot be towed.

If your MH can handle the weight it should tow fine. I tow a 2017 2500 Duramax. It tows fine just a little on the heavy side! Full of fuel it weighs just over 8000#. I have to disconnect the batteries (2016 and up on the 2500) but you will be spared that chore. Just like earlier post said, follow the instructions in the manual. Mike
