First,
What does the "Dinghy Towing Guide" say? It's put out every year in Motorhome and Trailer life magazines. That towing guide is pretty accurate. Second, did you by any chance, read the owners manual, in the section usually labeled: Towing with an RV? It will tell you everything you need to know.

The V8 Durango can be towed 4 down, the V6 model CANNOT be towed 4 down. Consult your owners manual for instructions.

I would love to consult an owner's manual but I don't own one yet. And I will not buy one if it can't be towed. So I guess I am between a rock and a hard place.

The 2015 FMCA Dinghy Tow Guide says (for the Durango):
Quote:
1 only all-wheel-drive models equipped with the two-speed transfer case can be towed four wheels down. refer to the towing instructions in the owners manual.

Visit a Dodge dealer that has an AWD Durango and ask to see the owner manual. Or download one at:

Very often, you can simply type in ..xx(year/make/model and "Owners Manual" on the net and it will pop one up for you. Not always but, pretty frequently. I've done that on many potential toads and the owners manual pops up as a PDF file and looks like the original one. It's how I found all about the 2015 JKU Jeep we just bought way before buying it.

I feel Remco site is most accurate . Owners manuals are not always right . For example Ford Escape & Chevy Cruze .

Yeah, but if the owner manual is wrong you have warranty recourse with the car manufacturer. If Remco is wrong, it's "Oh. Sorry about that". Unless you sue them for publishing false info...

Per the Owners Manual, AWD with 2 speed transfer case is "Flat Towable" So the thing you need to look at is the Transfer Case. In order to be able to tell, there will be spot with "N" on it. It will be some type of button or small push pin type of deal. You can usually push it with a key or ink pen, but you also have to follow the procedure in the Owners Manual.
The other question is what do you plan on towing this behind?
Fill out your Signature with your MH info, this will help us help you better.
If you don't have a DP with a 10klb tow capacity or more then forget about it. The Base AWD weighs 4900lbs.

The particular one that I wanted to buy is an AWD and does not have the N with the button. I know what it looks like now because I also looked at the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. You are correct. I need the N with the button in order to disengage the transfer case. Thanks for the help.
