Can we Tow Dolly Camry Hybrid?
We wanted to use a tow dolly for a 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Does anyone use a dolly on this vehicle? Anything we should know about tow dolly a hybrid car? Was going to get a dolly that swivels so as to leave the car in park.

Being a hybrid makes no difference, it tows just like a regular Toyota Camry on a dolly.

Don't some of the hybrids use regenerative setups on the rear wheels? If so there may be a problem.

Best check with Toyota and some of the online resources like Remco and FMCA. We had a highlander hybrid and it could only be towed on a full trailer

The Camry essentially uses the same chassis as the Prius. We have no issues dolly towing our Prius.

It will be in your owners manual about how to tow it.
Look for the "Towing section" in the book.

I looked in the manual under towing and it only says it cannot not be towed 4 down. Nothing about towed with a dolly. I guess I will call the dealer but would be nice to see it print or know that others do it.

Exactly. That is the most accurate source of information.

I worked for Toyota Motor Manufacturing, USA, for 27 years in various facets of engineering and I can state from a mechanical design standpoint there is no reason a hybrid Camry cannot be towed on a dolly, just like a normal Camry. As to the often mentioned "regenerative" limitation, it only applies to the front wheel drive unit when under it's own power.

That's good news. Thank you so much for the information we are very close to getting a dolly for a trip in March.

Camry on Dolly
I tow my Prius on a KarKaddy Dolly, no problem.
The rear axle on the Camry and the Prius do nothing in connection with the regen brake system, that is all on the front wheels.
You can get the dolly and tow the Camry as far as you want to.
The Prius is really nice for sightseeing after we park the MH!!

Ok, well I talked to the dealer today and yes this car can be used with a tow dolly. The back wheels do nothing more then roll and brake when needed. He said the only time it would be a problem is if the car had all-wheel drive which it does not. Thank you everyone who replied with their input.
