Interesting. I pulled my '17 MKX for 23,000 miles which included going from CA to TN (and vice-versa) and just started it in the evenings when I would roll into an RV park. Many times I never disconnected but it was my emergency dingy if needed. I still have the car by the way.

I never had any battery issues.

Safe travels,
Mark

Like previousily mentioned it would be interesting to see how it's wired up and if it has a 20AMP resettable breaker like I have in mine.

Can you please draw out exactly how you have this setup and perhaps provide a Part Number for the Diode. Also Pictures would help, too.

That's the big question and the odd fact why would the battery boil over some yet still show dead upon arrival. It's going from overcharging to running off the battery so much it's dead upon arrival. I shut off the same things ever time AC & Radio. Hookup is the same. I'm trying to find out when in Tow Mode what is actually stil on. The lights run off the coach only the RVi Brake 3 is off the car's 12V/Battery. Though I've been thinking that if I disconnect the so-called 12V to the relay from the MH and eliminate the battery from the equation then use that 12V line from the coach to run the Brake system there should not be much draw other than what the car has on when in tow mode.
I suspect the adaptive steering and several other things stay on throughout the towing ordeal.
Thoughts, anyone, on this approach?

Well it happened again on our short trip in April which was a checkout for the current trip back to NE that we left in June for and currently in Wells, Me at an RV Resort. Anyway when I got home from the short trip I decided to got through all the wiring again from the car and the MH 7pin plug. Now I thought I did this thoroughly before but when II found the issue with the car 6pin wiring it kind of surprised me. As it turns out the shop that installed the base plate and setup the wiring including the trickle charger screwed up big time. It turns out the wiired the 12v line that would be charging the battery when the demand relay opened was wired to the backup pin instead. Not sure how I missed it but moved it to the right location and out 10 day trip back to NE went without a hitch as the car kept it's charge without any issues. I'm glad this is behind me though called the shop and mentioned it though almost 2 yrs to figure it out and they didn't seem to care. I commented I'd look up who did the wiring because I'm sure he's done others. He wired it as a trailer vs. MH to car. Anyway just wanted those who tried to help to thank them for their input. I usually don't give up on issues like this but this took a lot longer than I planned. Thxs
