Cherokee base plate for a-frame bar

I am looking at getting a Cherokee to tow 4 down. I know I need the Active Drive II. I have a Brake Buddy. I want to continue to use my old A-frame tow bar with my ball hitch on the MH. So I need a removable baseplate that can be easily converted for use with either 3/4" tow shackles or the older spring shackle style of mount. Any ideas?

No one has responded in over 24 hours. I have to ask, why not while upgrading your toad you don't upgrade to an adjustable arm tow bar? Using an A-frame unit with a ball hitch is much more difficult to connect than an adjustable arm tow bar. Base plates for Blue Ox or Roadmaster tow bars are also more available than an A-frame tow bar. I think you might have to have a base plate custom made or modify the attachment hardware for your A-frame. Look on Ebay or Craig's List for used tow bars.

Legitimate question. I have the a-frame now and will continue to keep it when towing the CJ, so I am trying to save the $600 or so needed to add the tow bar. Along with the hassle to store a second tow bar. As far as difficulty in the hook up? My wife and I have it down pat, I drive up to it, she signals right/left/forward and drops It on the ball virtually first time, every time. It couldn't be easier. My son is a certified welder, so a simple mod, even a crossbar, is a possibility. I haven't ruled out a new towbar, just looking at options.
