Pay attention to how the cords on the market are wired up as some have the center pin on the 6 way wired for a charge line and others have the center pin on the 6 way wired for trailer brakes. The 7 way on the RV end are all wired the same. For example, the Hopkins Nite Glow has the center pin of the 6 way wired for trailer brakes where as the Roadmaster I use has the center pin wired for the charge line. There doesn't seem to be a standard for which way those two pins are wired up. Hopkins also makes blue trailer cords that can be purchased with the center pin either way. But these are only 5 feet and typically too short for a tow bar.

I just had my cable fail, which really surprises me as I always loop over jeep bumber light bar bracket to function as strain relief.
Anyway, was just checking my brake system and lights, as I hadn't used my RV in a while, and right blinker wasn't working. Tried a number of things, but ultimately swapped out and tried my brother in laws cable, and it worked.
When I pulled the toad end of the connector apart, it was badly coroded, so I'm not sure if that's what caused it. I store my RV in an insulated/heated (not AC) garage, and with only a few exceptions (very short trips, overnights, etc.), I stored my cable and air hose in a compartment, I don't just leave on tow bar.
I just ordered a roadmaster last night, and am going to try putting a new end on my old cable and see if that fixes it.
Not sure what I'm using now. The original cable was part of the setup I got from a local (now out of business) RV shop that installed my braking system/jeep wiring in place, and put an auxiliary compressor/tank on by gasser, so I could use air activated braking system on the jeep.
All I know is it's a blue coiled cable, and somewhere along the lines I bought a second one just like it (maybe etrailer???).
