We are hoping to do some dry camping and taking the ZR2 off-roading. We are looking at the forester 2291s. The Colorado zr2 weighs in at 6200 lbs and can be flat towed. We are going to take it to the scales to verify. the wheel base ratio for the 2291s is at 53. Another option we are considering is the Forester 2501ts. All the weights and number are the same on these 2 class c’s except the wheelbase, slides and of course length. The wheelbase ratio on the 2501ts comes in at 56. Was hoping to get some feedback like you from others with similar experiences or suggestions. We cannot go any bigger than 30 ft bumper to bumper.

Wow! 6200 lbs... Nice truck! with great reviews and serious competition for the Taco
GM must have packed some heavy duty stuff in there
I toad a 16 Canyon with the diesel...
I'm About 5000 with shell and loaded with tools and other crap!
At 5k it tows fine behind my 33' A Gasser ...
Good luck with your adventure!

Seems like too much weight since most Type C's have a 5,000# hitch and towing rating.

I was surprised by those specs also, which is why I am going to the scales.

Good idea..
The payload and towing capabilities in the ZR2 is lower than the Z71 due to the increase in the trucks weight
Curious to know the actual weight........
please post the results
Love that ZR2!

Just checked the specifications, the GVWR is 6,200 lbs. The curb weight for the extended cab long box with the V6 is 4639 lbs. The crew cab is 4735 lbs with the shorter box. The 2.8 diesel adds 266 lbs.

You are correct, diesel , zr2 max tow is 5000lbs, z71 chevy site says 6200, but I think it is higher than that in the diesel 7600lbs.

Yes I found that also on the chevy site. Thanks! Looks like 5012# with diesel zr2. Still going to the scales just to be sure.

Please report back. I had asked the local dealer about taking it to a scale but we don't know of one locally so it will be interesting to see how close your measured weight is to the published number.
What color are you looking at? I am partial to the orange but I think that might get vetoed by someone
