Constant Power 2017 f150

My toad is a 2017 f150, seems all of the lighter sockets time out and my auxiliary tow brakes loose power? Anyone have an easy work around?

May not be real easy but I had to install a new power socket directly from the battery to get one that would not blow the OEM power socket fuses. They won't time out.

Ford aux time out is a well documented "feature" over on the Ford forums. So far, no work around that I am aware of regarding extending the timeout, etc.. Lots of people for different reasons would like to have it never timeout but even with hacking the ECU, etc.. there doesn't seem to be a suitable work around - for your needs, the solution Gary m suggested might be the best. I tow a 2016 F150 and power my F150 brake lights via the 7 pin connector off the coach. There is a roadmaster kit to do this which includes diodes, wiring and instructions so you don't get feedback into the rest of the 150 system. Using this method, you don't need power from the F150.

There is software called FORSCAN that you can change the aux power timeout. Lots of info on ford trucks forum.

I have FORSCAN.. have looked at all the settings and everyone on the forum has tried as well. So far no one has found a way to keep the the accessories powered for more than about 15 minutes. If I'm missing the settings.. PLEASE point it out to me and I will be very grateful!

In all honesty I tow a 2017 F250 and seatbelt a 12V booster pack with a cigarette lighter socket in it to driver seat. It acts 2 fold as I don't pull down the truck battery and I can boost myself if need be.
