It depends on what is included in that price. I did most of the work myself. Materials are around 500 for tow bar and lights on the tow vehicle, the rest will depend on braking system and tow solutions.
A lot of this is not that complicated if you are mechanically inclined. If not, shop around for better quotes, try different solutions.

Please tell us EXACTLY what that $4,900 quote included.Without that information we are just shooting in the dark.
And assume this is a manual transmission Versa.

I installed a Blue Ox base plate, and light kit cost about 550.00. Done work myself. Waiting on NSA ready brake i got on E-bay, for 425.00 and the Ready stop brake away cable that was 94.00. And with a little work cost about 1100.00. Not that bad of job!!!

I'm currently having my 2020 Versa set up and that price is about what I'm paying. However, I'm in the Washington DC area where prices tend to run higher than other areas. Good luck.

$4,500 - $4,900 sounds to be in the right ballpark to have a shop install a tow bar, base plate, tail light wiring, and braking system on most typical cars. Though exact choice of equipment can make this a big ballpark with tow bars alone ranging from about $350 - $1,400. Braking systems range from about $900 - $1,500 not counting installation (some are fairly straight forward, some require more wiring, cables routed, hoses spliced, etc.)

thanks for the replys
Thanks to all who replied I am told the braking system the 2 shops that were quoting can't get the brake system they recommend and they are not recommending an alternative. Considering the cost of this job w e decided it isn't worth it. We don't travel much and the RV is only 28 ft so its like a delivery truck and can fit into most parking spots with a little hang out

Used tow bar: $200
Base plate: $400
Brake buddy: $800
Magnetic tail lights: $40
Did the install myself, except I paid a stereo installer $45 to run wire thru the firewall.
I think that's about as cheap as it gets. Maybe not the worst strategy for a cheap paid-for car that you don't really like anyway.
On the other hand, if you invested in your car, consider investing in a decent system and don't be surprised if you drop $6k before you're done. I was recently quoted $4600 to install air force 1, baseplate, lights. Everything other than the tow bar.

At 4k-4.5K you are in the right ball park. We paid $4200 for everything but the blue ox tow bar, for our 2020 Jeep.

Ditto.
I paid $4,400 to Quality Bumper (four locations in Phoenix area) to have a Blue Ox system with Patriot brake controller installed on a 2018 Toyota Corolla iM.
They also did full tinting and a bra for an additional $1,400. Very nice work.
Time + Materials

Always wonder on a similar post why a bunch of people jump in and give prices of a self install - when the OP clearly did not want that ???
