Currie tow bar mount fit?

Currie tow bar mount fit?
I bought a Currie CE-9033JK tow bar mount for my'15 JKU Sport. Stock bumper.

For some reason I can't get the plate far enough forward for the bolt holes to line up. It's off by about 1/4"

Anyone else mount one of these? Issues or tips?

I installed one on my 12 2dr sport in 2012 and had the same problem. I found if you take a pin wrench you can align the bolt holes, once you get 1 bolt in the center part of tow plate the rest will go in with some finessing. A pin wrench is a pry bar that has one end tapered to a point. On the plus side I have towed my JK about 15,000 miles and it still works well. I have checked the bolts and they have stayed tight even after a few panic stops while towing.

Hope you figured it out. I have a 2014 JRUR and installed this plate. I didn't have any issues. If you still do, post a pic.

Thanks guys, I did get it on.

I think there were 2 issues, first is the space between the bumper cover and the inner metal bumper is very tight. The tow plate had to really be pushed to get in between the two.

Second, there are some skip welds on the bumper and the plate was just hitting on them, keeping the plate from going all the way in. A couple passes with the grinders on the plate took care of that issue.

For what it's worth, I think the Currie plate looks a lot better than a standard tow bar bracket looks!

I loosened the bolts holding the plastic bumper, that let me slip in the Curry plate. Then no issues bolting to the bumper frame. Then drilled holes and bolted to the cross member. I use a ready brute tow bar and had to do some filing to get the alumnium forks to fully seat into the Curry prongs.
