Dinghy towing

I have a dilemma here and cannot seem to get a straight answer if anyone can advise that would be great. I have a 2019 Chevy equinox 1.5 6 speed and. I have asked 2 Chevy dealers and gm direct about flat towing this vehicle. 2 dealers said yes and GM said no. Does anyone really know a true answer for me? Ty

Go to the annual Dinghy Towing Guide published by Motor Home Magazine. They publish the Manufacturer's specs for towing 4-flat.

https://www.motorhome.com/download-dinghy-guides/

Your owner's manual is the definitive guide! Sometimes they make mid-year changes, so I always go by the Owner's Manual....period. If it does not have a section about flat towing in it, then I'd assume it is NOT flat towable, at least without some kind of alteration like a transmission lube pump, drive shaft disconnect, etc.

The Remco site shows the FWD version can be towed. Store : Remco It shows the AWD must be put on a trailer.

If it is the FWD model, don't rule out using a tow dolly. I have towed 4 down for many thousands of miles, and dolly towed a bit less, but I don't find the dolly that big a deal. I can load up my car on my dolly as fast as my friend can hook up his truck four down.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I would go by what is in your owner's manual. Be sure you are reading about towing behind a motorhome and not towing a trailer, etc. Just noticed you are kinda new on the forum and wanted to say hello.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
