Yes....the brake lights from the brake pedal will override your turn signals when stopped at a light. If your lights do come on with the truck off, you'll need to resolve the issue. All of my previous toads turned the brake lights on when my Air Force One unit applied the brakes. When I set up my Silverado a few years ago, I added bulbs to the taillights to prevent that issue. When I was done, I found out the Silverado didn't turn on the lights when the key was off.

Side Note: That harness I mentioned, only uses the white, green, yellow, brown loom on one side, front to rear, but it does run wiring under the bumper for the side to side connections.

I have a last update to this thread so as to bring my questions to an end and hopefully help somebody else that will have this same question in the future.

Prior to today, I installed the Blue Ox base plate, Roadmaster diodes, front 6 pole electrical connector, and OEM breakaway cable for the brake buddy. Today I installed a 12 volt cigarette style plug that has power to it even when the truck is off, a battery maintainer to trickle charge the toad off the motorhome while in tow, and tried to install the brake light relay.

After following the instructions to the tee and the brake light relay not working, I called Roadmaster tech support. They told me My truck didn't need the brake light relay. This is after I was specifically told by Etrailer tech support that I did. It seems my truck has a hibernation mode such that if you wait 10 minutes from the time you take the key out of the ignition and close the truck door to tow, a brake light relay is not needed. Once you open the door, the computer resets. If you want the set up to work properly to tow again, you have to close the door and wait another 10 minutes. It's a pain, but at least it should work... Wish I knew this before the many hours and cost to buy the relay...
