No lock. I want to be able to unhook quickly. I carry an extra set of pins just in case. I always check the tow bar at every stop anyway, so locks would not really save me from double checking everything.

Locks:

1) Hitch to 2" drop extension
2) 2" drop extension to towbar stinger
3) Towbar ends to crossbar (Roadmaster Sterling)
4) Crossbar to baseplate arms

1) and 2) use common key, 3) and 4) use common key.

I find padlocks for 3) and 4) give me better peace of mind than using the supplied linch pins.

Locked on motorhome hitch and one lock on the towbar end. Just to make it less tempting for someone to go for a joyride with the toad.

Locked to the hitch and pins on the tow bar to the car. Spare set of pins in a basement compartment.

I've never heard of one being stolen and 95% of the time when one becomes disconnected, it's human error.

I only lock mine to the receiver because the locking pin is easier to deal with and I trust it more than the pin with the retainer clip. I don't remove my tow bar and also use an anti-rattle device.

When I got my first tow bar, I locked all the connections with keyed alike locks, but realized it was just something else to service/clean and a pain when connecting and disconnecting. Fifteen years of unlocked tow bar and no issues. To me, camping is about making things simple so that making camp and breaking camp isn't a chore.
