Dodge Dakota dead remote

I ran the battery dead on my 2005 Dakota Crew while towing. Either the Brake Buddy or I left the key on one click to far. I ordered a Toad Charge system. My problem is I cannot get the remote door find to work now. I have added new batteries to both. No luck. Thoughts? Thanks!

Try turning the key to the on position but do not crank. Keep this position for 1 minute then turn ignition off then start engine. That should let the computer reset to accept the code from the remote.

Instructions
    • 1 Sit down in your Dodge Dakota and make sure all of the doors are closed and your seat belt is fastened so that you aren't confused by the fasten seat belt chime during the programming process.

    • 2 Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "On" position, Do not start the engine.

    • 3 Hold down the "Unlock" button on your remote door lock transmitter for four seconds. Press the panic button immediately. When you hear a chime, let go of both buttons. You are now in programming mode and have one minute to program all of your Dodge Dakota remote door lock transmitters.

    • 4 Take the first remote door lock transmitter to be programmed and hold down the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons at the same time for two seconds, Let them go and press the "Unlock" button. You will hear a chime. Repeat this step for all additional remote door lock transmitters that you need to program.

    • 5 Turn the key to the "Off" position in the ignition. After one minute, remove your key and all of your remote door lock transmitters will be in working order.

  • Warnings

  • You can program up to eight remote door lock transmitters for your Dodge Dakota.

  • Any time you program a new remote door lock transmitter, you need to reprogram all of them.
  • Try this

Still no luck. I should have asked how to reprogram the KEY as they are one unit. Thanks for the response anyway!

Does your Dakota have Sentra Key (computer coded keys)?? if so, you can't program a new key....unless you have a DRBIII, like the dealer does.
