Yep - tow bar is locked into the hitch receiver and I lock the tow bar pins every time I use it, The 3 pins came in a kit and are keyed alike. Better safe that sorry given the investment in the coach, the toad, and the equipment

If you overnight at rest stops, walmart, or truck stops for free instead of a nice campground, you might want to put a lock on the pins (and everything else). If you are like many others that travel campground to campground, stopping at truck stop for fuel and then on your way again, probably not necessary.

Exactly. No more worries if a pin works loose going down the road....

Always
Trust no one with the safety of everyone around you. Started with just pins then one day going through Atlanta saw a bout break loose on the highway from its tow vehicle. Don’t known what happened to boat but made me rethink what it was doing. Bought ythree locks and have been using them ever since for all trips.
Enjoy the journey

I have a 5th wheel but a similar common issue. I've heard stories of kids pulling the hitch release while parked and hitched so that when the driver pulls away the 5th wheel drops onto the bed of the truck. Lot of damage! I haven't put a lock on it but am in the habit of checking before driving off.

I always check my hook up thoroughly after each stop to make sure I’m safe to leave, not only for the sickos that think it’s fun to watch someone tear up something but for my own info that some isn’t working loose.

Always keep them locked. I leave my pins in and attachments for toad always in. Just keep locks maintained so keys will work[emoji14]

FWIW...years back I decided to replace the pins with pad locks. Some weeks later driving in the Appalachian mountains, In the rear view camera, I see one arm of my tow bar sparking down the road. The toad only connected by one arm. The padlock had sheared! Now maybe I should have purchased more expensive locks. I put the pins in, and never had one shear yet.

Yes I started using locking pins on my base plate tabs after I had a clip pin come out or taken out at a campground. I had just hitched up the toad and had double checked all pins. I started driving slow around a curve in the campground and noticed my toad vehicle running off to the side. Ended up with damaged base plate and Blue Ox tow bar.
I looked for the missing pin and couldn’t find it. There were a lot of people standing around watching. I hate to think someone pulled it, but there are sick people with twisted sense of humor.
I also always do a walk around after stops.

I’ve got 2 keyed alike locking pins for the drop hitch to the motor home receiver and tow bar to the drop hitch. What is everyone using to lock the arms to the baseplate on the toad? I’m using a Currier baseplate on my Wrangler with Blue Ox clevis connectors on the ends of the arms. The pins holding the Blue Ox clevis to the baseplate don’t look to be the same size as the receiver pins.

Are these the same kind of locking pins used on a hitch receiver?

Always. Locking pins came with the blue ox tow bar. See no reason not to use them.
