The Honda CRV in the 2010-2014 range does not register mileage when towed with key in ACC position. You do have to be careful to do transmission service based on mileage traveled rather than what is registered. Also, as mentioned, the tires also register the mileage.

Heard a salesman at the Hershey show tell a guy that ALL cars register miles while being towed. Shame on the guy for asking a salesman anything technical.
