Dolly Towing for the First Time

Hi all.

We are getting ready for our first "long" RV trip.

We will be towing a Dodge Neon behind our 35' RV using a solid dolly. I have read about problems with the dolly fenders hitting the towed vehicle when making sharp turns. I have installed a rear view camera to try and keep an eye on things but was wondering if any experienced dolly towers could offer any insight or advice.

Thanks in advance.

To be sure for yourself take it to a parking lot and make turns lock to lock while somebody is watching the clearance.

You should have no problems with a small neon.
Have towed a Taurus on a dolly for years, no issues, plan your entry point carefully. Only one did I have to take the car off because I needed to back up.

Heatseeker, I'm in the same boat, getting ready for first long trip. I tow a small car on dolly. I've made the sharps turns to check clearance, ok. now just have to check wheel nets every 100 miles, and make sure I don't get into a spot where I would have to back up

I have about 35,000 miles on my dolly, pulling a Kia Soul and now a Jeep Renagade.

Make normal turns and don't try U turns, don't back up, and you will be fine.

When you get in the spot where your stuck, unable to go foward, take the car off, move and reload. It can happen to anybody.

Thanks for the reassurances folks.

I did test tow the car around with my pick up and did not experience any problems. My concern came from the fact that the back of the MH hangs a long way behind the rear axle. This sometimes causes me headaches when towing my boat, so I wasn't sure the effect on the dolly/car set up.

And then I started reading on the internet about dented doors...
