Extra seating while on the road.

Had this thought, can you carry passengers in your toad ?

They have crash protection and could have climate control, running the engine.

could be a bit unnerving ..... very close tailgating, not being able to see ahead, not knowing which way MH is going (turns, lane changes etc)
Hard braking, maneuvering

And occupants wouldn't have any 'control'

I’m gonna take a wild guess, and say legally ‘no’.

Varies by state. Legal in some, illegal in others. The only way to know for sure it to check with all the states on your route.

It would definitely scare the bejeezus outta me!

Probably best to just have someone in the toad who can drive it.

Regards,

Randy

Your toad is basically a trailer pulled by your rig. So just ask if it's legal to ride in a trailer.

Definetely illegal here in Canada.

I found this on a quick search.......

"The laws are different in each state. States like Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and North Carolina allow passengers to ride in the back of a travel trailer. However, some states require safety glass to be installed in the trailer to legally transport passengers."

But no one in control should something bad happen. As one person noted, it's probably a state by state thing as to whether anyone is allowed in a trailer when being towed. 'Cause it is a trailer at that time and not a car. For example, if the car gets smashed into from behind, doesn't the motorhome's insurance cover the damage and not the car's (assuming no insurance from the person who hit it)?

I think some states allow someone in a fifth wheel while underway but not a bumper pull. Your car would be more like a bumper pull to me.
