ez tow dolly for a 2019 fwd honda crv

I am trying to find out exactly how to go about using my tow dolly with my crv. I cannot find any info online & the manual only says cant be flat other info !
I have a ez towdolly and do not understand how to do this...there is NO key to put in so does steering stay locked ? There is no swivel plate on the dolly..some are saying has to have steering locked so people are saying have to put key in..there is no way to do that on a 2019. Just looking for answers & hopefully someone has done this with a 2019 crv. There is one youtube video showing a uhaul dolly but only how to load other info ! Help !

You must have unlocked steering on an EZtow dolly.

With the car off, parked on grass, see if you can turn the steering wheel and make the tires steer.

It will be hard to do if not locked but if locked the steering wheel will not turn a half a turn.

I used to tow a 2010 Sienna on this dolly. Steering was unlocked by turning key to on position then back off but leave key in ignition.

no key

There is only a key fob so no way to insert a key for this as you described. I went online to research this as it seemed odd that there is no way to use an actual key.

Have you figured it out yet?

I remember seeing this article a few months ago but didn't pay that much attention to it because I don't own a Honda but sometimes breeze through such articles because it can pertain to toads and I'm always interested in things that might pertain to the subject.

The suggestion is to hold the "unlock" button on the key fob until the horn beeps. I'm not sure if that will keep it unlocked or whether you can then lock the doors, etc. but you might fool around with it to see.

The other suggestion they give --and it would probably be a hassle to do every time-- is to use a flathead screwdriver and insert it into a slot on the underside of the steering column and push up to manually release it. I'm not sure of your CR-V has that slot or not but something you can check.
