Ford F150 as Toad

Can not decide on a toad wife doesn't care for a jeep was looking at a ford ranger but they are hard to find a used one in my area. So what about a newer f-150. I have a 2017 bounder 35k. Thanks for all input.

f150

I think that Bounder is on the F53 chassis.
If that’s correct the F150 may be too heavy. You probably have a hitch rated at 5,000 lbs. Depending on your chassis (this information will be on a placard or label in your coach) you have a 4,000 lb. difference between GVWR and GCWR. Any towed weight over that 4,000 lbs will cut into your available CCC.

Whatever toad you get, make sure you know the real curb weight. The published weight can be several hundred pounds lower depending on options.

The F-150 will be really pushing your weight limits, if not over what you can tow. That's just too much truck for the Bounder. Take a look at a GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado. The 2016's and newer are nice trucks and easy to tow. My neighbor tows one with his Class A gasser. I towed a Canyon for 5 years, nice truck.....about 4500 pounds.

The 2017 brochure says the 35K has a 5000 lb hitch rating, so I agree with the others that a nicely equipped F150 is going to equal or exceed that. A barebones F150 is about 4100 lbs but most end up very near 5000. You would be better off a smaller truck or an SUV.

If your wife doesn't like a Jeep (which model?), how about a Chevy Equinox, Buick Envision, Ford Edge or Explorer, or GMC Acadia. [I'm using 2018 models as an example]
