I tow an automatic '87 Ford Bronco II but it has a manual transfer case. It tows beautifully. I think the Broncos and Rangers with the electronically controlled transfer case need an additional part installed that will allow the transfer case to stay in the neutral position. The needed part used to be available from Ford dealers but that's about all I know.
