We tow a 2020 Trail Hawk with NO problems and we love the set up (also with Air Force 1 brake system)
You might check if the 2017 needs a special wire harness to prevent the "death wobble" to tow it. Your jeep dealer can install if necessary.

We have a 201 7 Cherokee trail hawk and did require the install of the tow wiring kit. I would think your a Grand Cherokee would need one also.
It tows great and only takes a few minutes to put into or out of tow mode.

I think you can get steering wobbles certain years and need electric harness for elect.steering in 2020 I believe they fixed problem. You read up on it here's a place... to start I have read it here so a search ,that's only reason I know of it.

Check Motorhome Dinghy Guide for information pertaining to your specific vehicle. We are currently in the market for another toad, and find the information there very helpful.

There is a different- Grand Cherokee vs Cherokee
Folks you should be aware there are several different version of the Trailhawk.
I've had the Cherokee trailhawk and the Grand Cherokee trailhawks and there are differences with each platform if you are towing one you should do our research to understand each one.
Cherokee's prior to 2019 they had a Mopar wiring harness that could be added.
Grand Cherokee;s after 2016 changed to electric power steering- the 2021 manual seems to add a line that says you can contact your dealer for an accessory kit that can be added. I also saw this in the 2021 dodge durango owners manual.
For that matter I think there is a Compass trailhawk to that folks should be aware of.
