Flat Tow Wire Harness for 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Just purchased a new 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. It requires a wire harness for flat towing. My local Jeep dealership and FCA 800 number are both telling me the part has not been manufactured yet.

I read some other posts on this topic pertaining tp the 2014-model years. It appears not all 2017 experience the wobble issue which is why the harness is required.

I'm thinking if trying to tow without it and see how it does.

This is my first post and I'm interested to see the responses.

Not sure where they are getting their info but they put one on my 2017 Cherokee (and it works fine).

I suppose they could be talking about a 2018 Cherokee??

Don't tell my 2017 Trailhawk. It thinks it has one installed.

My 2017 Cherokee Limited and my friends 2017 Trail Hawk both have Flat Tow Wire Harness installed.
