Flat towing 2006 Honda Pilot

I have towed many Honda products in the past. I am now interested in a 2006 Honda Pilot. Has anyone here actually done this?

Honda says it's not towable, but some have with no problems.

Yes Mr D. That is the reason I am asking if anyone on the Forum has done this. I have towed 2 other Hondas that the manual says it can't be done. Honda went to playing it safe around 2006 about flat towing.

I have a 2007 Pilot and have towed it about 20,000 miles without any problems.
I use the same pretow procedure as a pre2015 CRV, I also installed a battery shut off on my pilot.

I bought a new 2006 Honda Pilot to pull behind my motorhome. I sat down with the sales manager at the Honda dealership and we went over the manual together that said it was towable 4 down.

Several months and 5,000 miles later I read that it was not towable 4 down. I called the sales manager and he checked on it. Discovered Honda had changed their mind and made it non-towable.

He said bring it back and they refunded me every penny I had given them with no hassle. Made me a believer in their dealership for sure.

However if I had it to do over again I would have towed it as I've seen on here several people who've towed the 2006 with no problem.

As a long time Honda owner, and having towed two CRVs, I've yet to figure out Honda's policy on towing vehicles. A great many Hondas use the same transmissions, yet one model is towable and one is not....go figure.
