Flat Towing

Hello all I have a dilemma I have a 95 Coachmen santara 460 36 ft dual axle and I'm thinking about taking it on the road for a while so this means Towing another vehicle. I currently have a 2009 Toyota Tacoma quad cab roughly 4500 lb to 5000 lb I love this truck and I have the Blue Ox an appropriate front bumper hitch for my truck along with a braking system which I previously purchased and I can undo for bolts on the rear drive shaft and flat tow my truck. I was wondering if anybody else has flat towed a quad cab truck like the Ford the Chevy or the Toyotas hopefully then the pros and cons. I'm looking at picking up a YJ Wrangler but that gives up a lot of comfort and space from my Tacoma and it looks like I'm going to save roughly 2000 pounds Maybe possibly only a thousand any thoughts would be helpful

Too heavy, I think you're limited to 3,500#'s.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I don't know what your tow rating is on that MH but I doubt you could safely tow that much.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I have towed a 4 door FWD full size Chevrolet Pickup all over the US with no problems. If you have enough towing capacity, you should be okay.

Just make sure the hitch on your coach is rated for the weight you will be towing.

Good luck and safe travels...

Sounds like you have the same coach as me. If so you are only rated to tow 3500 lbs. Sorry. Even with a higher tow rating a stock 460 if gonna be straining hard on the hills with that much weight.

I have the same chassis with a Fleetwood Bounder on it . You have a 3500 lbs tow rating like others have said .
We flat tow a Ford Focus , it has its tongue hanging out on big hills .
