Flat towing a 2016 Ford Explorer platinum

Installed a Blue Ox baseplate and diodes for the lights. V6 eco boost, push button to start. Took it out for a test the other day without battery disconnect. Discovered that the odometer racks up mileage while towing. Installed a disconnect, wired a separate plug for my Blue Ox brake buddy set up. Everything worked like it should.

Looks like a pretty extensive job - how long did it take you?

My son and I took our time. It was about a five hour job. The hardest time was bringing the power, ground and wire for the break away switch for the brke system.

Sounds like you didn't have the ignition turned off. I did that once by mistake .
