Ford 2007 Explorer Spot Trac flat tow

Ford no longer makes the kit for neutral towing but I understand I might be able to get a good service garage to enable neutral towing with good diagnostic
equipment if ford won't do it. But I need a LED indicator light to show when it is in the neutral position. Does anyone know how and where to hook up this led light? I have read under the dash by the steering column.
How do I find where to install this indicator light? Some have said Radio shack has them. Or can anyone give me Amazon location to buy it there?

Thanks

I’m it sure how you’d hook up the light, but I’m also not sure you’d need it. And you don’t need to pay Ford or a shop to do it. Check out forscan.org and dig through their forum. I did a quick search and it appears that it can be done. Forscan is a system you can install on a windows laptop and do all sorts of fun stuff to a whole range of Ford (and owned by Ford) vehicles. You get a wired or wireless dongle that plugs into the OBD port and go to town. It’s a high end diagnostic tool as well. And, it doesn’t cost thousands of dollars. They say you have to use a windows 7 box to use it, but I know folks running it on windows 10 boxes. Heck, I even know a guy running it on windows 10 on a MacBook Pro.
