It probably doesn't have to be said but just in case you're not aware, the Bronco Sport is NOT flat towable. The Bronco and Bronco Sport are two different vehicles.

I'm considering a Bronco to replace my Nissan Xterra. It seems I read somewhere that there were issues with the 2.7L option. Something about electric brake boost that the 2.4L doesn't have. Anyone know if this is still an issue?

I WAS interested in towing a new Bronco. I looked at a Bronco Raptor last weekend and actually shifted it to Neutral Tow, verifying it was towable. I loved the looks, feel and power.........but the dealers are asking $50K over MSRP. This one listed at $91700.00 MSRP and the dealer wanted $141700.00. I told him what he could do with his Bronco.
Note.....I tow a Ford Raptor F-150, but I bought new for $3K under MSRP. These guys are nuts. Roadmaster is making base plates for the Broncos that are towable.

To me. the simple thing to flat tow its a Jeep Wrangler. No fuss, no muss, no having to start the engine every so many hours or miles of towing, etc. to circulate fluids. And yes, the price dealers are asking for these is ridiculous.

Not everyone likes to drive or get around in Wranglers (step in height, creature comforts, ride, handling, etc) and/or can not afford a separate flat toad vehicle from their daily driver. And we're not all off roaders, rock climbers, mudders - some of us are just plain old ordinary people seeing the sites that the bulk of people visit. Are we missing those hard to reach, less visited places? Yes, but we are seeing what we came to see. And running errands while on the road away from home.
The amount of fuss, muss or other requirements above and beyond what a Wrangler takes to flat tow is insignificant. During connecting, we all have to sit in the drivers seat and do something, right? I never sit in the drivers seat wishing I didn't have to push a couple buttons.
As far as starting engines at fuel stops, for me it often coincides with 1 day of travel or just a lunch break.
Yes, some of us are speed limited with toads and that's OK with us most of the time, we plan accordingly.

The newer Ford pickups & broncos are real easy. Turn on ignition, shift to neutral, turn 4 wheel drive knob 5 times in 7 seconds. Done.
If everyone refuses to pay over MSRP, those dealers will quit doing so! We looked at a new F150, F150 Lightning, & Bronco. We went with a used F150 (from another dealer) because they wanted over MSRP. I'm so glad our supply chain issues are completely resolved. I read it in the paper, so it must be true.

We are basically the same, if we want to go to the woods, hills, mountains etc., we hike.
So couple years ago we got a slightly used dealer demo Buick Envision AWD for wife's daily drive. It's so comfortable that that even I don't mind driving it. The AWD adds some capability for Michigan winters. And the price did not break the bank.
To set it to tow, just start it up, put on neutral and shut engine off. Then set the RVI brake. We can go on towing for days without starting it.
And no speed limits. I cruise at 65 but if I need to pass someone slower, I can speed up without hesitation and not impede other traffic.

there is an over the air update and maybe a visit to the dealer for an ABS software update to address the issue, had to do with the vehicle going to sleep and no electric brake assist, I use an NSA brake setup so it not an issue.

We just leased our first TOAD, which is a 2023 Ford Bronco. We got it for $51K which was MSRP. It will have great residual value when the lease is up.

Not so sure on that residual value. Your getting one in a high demand time. If Ford picks up production, the price will fall.

An update to availability on the new Broncos. They are at some dealerships now selling for MSRP or slightly under if it has less than desirable options. I will be buying one after I recover from an upcoming surgery.
