Ford Edge with ReadyBrake Tow Bar

Anyone have any experience with setting up a Ford Edge with a Roadmaster Base Plate, ReadyBrake Elite Tow Bar? How difficult is it to get through the firewall for the ReadyBrake? Our Ford Edge is a 2011.

Thank you in advance!

I set up a ready brake with my Jeep Liberty, it's not a ford but it was easy to install and set up, and has not been a problem since.

Thanks all for the responses. Sounds like it should not be that difficult to accomplish and the easiest way to go 4 down with the ReadyBrake and the Edge.

Haven't set up a Ford but with the two Honda's and my routine should work on any vehicle to the get the cable installed thru the firewall in a good location.

To make the install easier I use a 1/8" 10 inch long drill bit. Taped drill bit to the brake pedal where I want the cable clamp installed to check for any interference with the stuff up under the dash. The I measure the up/down/left/right distance from the steering column to where I wanted the hole. Using the steering column as a landmark I can transfer the measurements to the other side of the firewall just to make sure I was well clean of anything that would not like to be drilled into and that I had plenty of room for the cable to include and bends.

Using the long drill bit makes it easier to get the hole in direct alignment to the brake pedal arm where I want to install the clamp. Eliminates any hard angles of the cable once it exits the firewall. Plus being in a awkward location having a pilot hole makes drilling the final hole easier.

Good luck.
