Ford-make Bronco Sport towable
At 3600 pounds and off-road capable the bronco sport would make an excellent alternative to the jeep. We love our jeep four-door Rubicon, but at over 5000 pounds it can’t be towed by smaller motorhomes.
Motorhomes are getting smaller and lighter every year. Ford really missed the boat with this vehicle not being a toad.
If enough people tell Ford they would’ve used it as a toad, what do you think the chances are that they would change it?

None, the entire toad community is less than .01% of total vehicle sales. Manufacturers do not pay any attention to such a small niche. I know, I was a product engineer for the worlds largest automotive manufacture for over 28 years, sales volume vs. cost to produce is the only deciding factor in what gets built and what doesn't. They will not specially engineer an entire product line for such a small percentage of sales.

I do agree with what you've said. It makes perfect sense.
However, the author of the article linked below --Aaron Brzozowski-- makes the same suggestion as the OP at the very end of the article.
"But Ford also noted that it's listening closely to customer feedback, which means that if enough RV life-stylers make their concerns known, Ford might be moved to come up with a solution. There's already evidence that they are indeed listening, as the automaker relented to manual-loving customers and just recently announced that the Ford Bronco's Sasquatch package would, in fact, be available with a 7-speed stick."
There's Bad News About The Ford Bronco Sport
The comparison he makes to the huge number of customer requests that the "big" Bronco be made available with a manual transmission when ordering the Sasquatch package is not a good or equal comparison. It would cost Ford very little money to make that change. But re-engineering a vehicle such as the Bronco Sport to be easily flat-towed would be very costly I'd imagine.
So I agree, it's not going to happen. But complaining to Ford still wouldn't hurt anything.
eta: OP: And remember, even though relatively rugged, the Bronco Sport is built on a unibody car platform as compared to the "big" Bronco and Wrangler that are truck-based body-on-frame vehicles that should be considered capable of tackling more extreme off-road situations. But I do agree, many of those towing Wranglers do not need that type of off-road capability and I'm sure would welcome a lighter vehicle than a Wrangler but still able to get to places that an ordinary car wouldn't.

You said the Bronco Sport is built on a unibody car platform. If that happens to be the Escort, then it could have the possibility to become towable if Ford ever releases a Bronco Sport Hybrid. We tow our 2020 Escape Hybrid behind our MH.

In the above post, I wrote Escort instead of Escape. Unfortunately, I'm unable to edit the post at this time.
