Ford Ranger New Model Issue

2020 Ford Ranger towed 4 down. On arrival and going through the procedure for disengaging from neutral tow we briefly get the disengaged message before it's covered up by the parking brake on indicator. The parking brake is not on. Fire it up, all is good.

Anyone else have this issue, is this whats supposed to happen or what? New toad for us so it's been doing it from the first time towed, not a change in behavior

Thanks for any insights.

Weíve recently change to a 2020 Ranger as our TOAD. Tomorrow is itís maiden voyage/tow. Iíve gone through the procedures of setting it up to tow and then to drive several times and have not seen the emergency brake notice. Iím hoping the Ranger will be as good as the Wrangler we got rid of.

I have had a few weird things on our 2019 after towing and I have found that they seem to occur if take the car out of neutral tow mode before unplugging the umbilical cord. Iím only guessing, but I think if my brake system is still powered it is keeping the brake booster active and that has caused some different messages to pop up on the display.

I now make sure to unplug the umbilical before disengaging neutral tow and everything has been fine.

I have the Roadmaster Invisibrake.

Try leaving your foot on the brake pedal while placing it into tow mode and removing it from tow mode. This seems to help it from malfunctioning. If I take my foot off the brake while putting it into Neutral Tow, it won't initialize.

You can also clear the messages by hitting the OK button on the steering wheel.
