Ford Ranger Toad

Quick question looking for a quick answer. Can any Ford Ranger 2wd manual transmission be towed 4 down?

More details needed as to year and trim level. Check the Remco web site, plug in your data, and it will tell you what you're looking for:

Store : Remco

Hope that helps.

I have a 1997 XLT , 4 cyl. standard Trans. I have pulled 4 Down since new. Key in Ign. to free strg wheel, Transmission in neutral and Brake off. I have 225K miles on it. I don't know how many miles towing. Not One Problem.

Specifically (I just looked at it on a car lot) a 1999 XLT 6 cyl manual 5 speed, step side or style side. Don't know what Ford's nomenclature is. 100,047 miles.

Just went to Remco but they evidently don't go back that far.

Thanks for the responses. I think I will go with the Ford Ranger. What tow gear do most of you use with the Ranger? Or is there a preferance? And in my limited research of the Ranger I found only one mention of the truck's weight and it said the '99 Ranger weighed in at about 3100 pounds. Does that seem accurate? A lot of good information here. Thanks

If I remember My 97 Reg Cab weighed a little over 2700 lbs. I use a Roadmaster 5000 Tow bar and Brake Buddy braking system. Hope this helps.
