Getting Ready To Tow 2012 Equinox Is This Right?

I have a 2012 Equinox 4cyl, I am getting ready to tow 4 down for the first time. I have everything set up and ready to. I just want to double check. I have pulled Fuse # 16 (NOT 32). I took a picture of how the dash board lights look (before I put the key in Accessories)...... Check out the lights... Once I turn it on to Acc all the lights go out. Thanks LeeB Just as a FYI when I replace the fuse all is normal BTW I HAVE A LOW TIRE

You can flat four a 2012?
We have a 2010 and it can't be towed, although it's AWD.
Sure wish we could though, great car.

We have been towing 4-down since new in '12. Works great. It is the two-wheel drive version, 4-cylinder.

I am not sure, I don't think you can because it is a AWD..

Are you certain?

https://images.goodsam.com/newmotorh...yGuide2010.pdf

That says both the 2010 Equinox FWD and the AWD versions can be flat towed.

So does the 2010 Owners Manual, page 9-79: https://my.chevrolet.com/content/dam...nox_owners.pdf

The top pic is from Good Sams. The bottom pic is from the Owners Manual.

The PDF confirms that the towing procedure was revised to leave fuse 32 installed and to pull fuse 16 instead, EXCEPT on the 2010, which gets a different fuse pulled.

AFAIK, only the 2018 2.0L gasoline AWD could not be flat towed. I have a 2020 AWD 2.0L and it can be flat towed but it has a completely different, switchable AWD system. To flat tow mine, I need to assure that AWD is turned ON. I bought it used and wish it was just FWD but whatever. It works, so far...

FWIW,

Ray

We towed a 4cylinder awd 2015 no issues except occasional death wobble. I stopped with a bungie. I pulled the fuse in the cabin not under the hood. Don't recall if that was 16 or 32.

The death wobble was supposed to be caused by pulling fuse 32. It had something to do with the "return to center" function of the electric steering as I recall. I think fuse 16 on 2011-2017 (and fuse 15 on 2010's) kills the anti-lock brakes.

Well it appears we were given some bad information by our Chevy dealer, and the 2010 AWD Nox can indeed be flat towed. Thanks for sharing that NXR, but we do enjoy our Jeep also...

Hmmm, do I set up a second toad? lol

I made a switch for the fuse ,power in power out that way you just have to flip switch instead of removing fuse iv'e forgot to switch it off a couple times only thing that happened was batter went dead, don't remember what fuse it was but yes when switch/removed the lights go out but the car will still start
