We are very pleased with it. Works great as a daily driver and as a toad, it is so easy, we don't mind unhooking it for a run to the store at an overnight stop.

Just for info:
2019 seems the last year for the Acadia. 2020 is a no go.

Putting transfer case into neutral

Instead of removing the boot to shift into neutral, has anyone else just made a little rod with a spring to put in the hole? I just have to push down on the rod that is hidden under the boot to shift into neutral. It is spring loaded so it pops right back up when you release it.
Hi - can you confirm exactly where the button is that needs to be depressed to put the transfer case in neutral? I couldn't tell if it was bottom left or right. Is it obvious?

Loosen the shifter boot and look down behind the shifter. If you try to move it to neutral with the ignition off you will see a white plastic piece preventing its movement. Reach under it with your finger and lift it and you will be able to move the shifter to neutral. Per the owners manual.

You do need to move the white plastic piece to unlock the shifter, but look further and you will see a hole to the rear of the shifter. Insert a tool into this hole to unlock the shifter.

I use an Allen Wrench to release the shift lock, move the shift to neutral and remove the Allen Wrench. When you’re ready to disconnect the Acadia from the motor home, just place the shift back into Park.

I stressed about it too before actually doing it, much easier to get ready to tow than my previous toads.

For clarification, the front wheel drive Acadia does not have a transfer case. Pushing in on the button is just allowing the transmission to be shifted into neutral for towing.

For you guys flat towing a 2017-2019 GMC Acadia, could you please confirm a couple details related to the procedure/set up? I recently purchased a 2019 Acadia and presently getting it set up to flat tow but have the following questions:

1. Does the Acadia ignition button stay in the off position while towing?
2. If ignition button stays in off position, then I would assume no electronics remain on and no charge line is required to keep the battery charged correct?

Thanks for your input.

2018 Arcadia

Setting up My 2018 Denali to tow is very simple. First hook up the tow bar, then shut off the ignition. Pull up the shifter boot
I use a large Allen wrench to push down the shift lever release. The shift lever will now be able to be shifted to Neutral with the ignition off.

At the campground, just shift into park and you’re ready to disconnect the towing setup.
