Do you have your manual. That specifies the procedure for my enclave. I found the sequence is important. Otherwise I got a check engine light when I restarted and sometimes it would not move. I finally figured bout I changed the order I did. Things in hooking up or unhooking and that caused the problem.

I tow a 2019 Acadia Denali ( V6, 6 speed auto). I don't think there is much if any change in the drive train. The owners manual should detail the procedure. You can download one from the internet if you don't have one.

In my case, its nothing more than:

1) Hook up tow equipment
2) ensure parking brake is off
3) shut engine down
4) lift boot around shifter
5) push transmission interlock release under boot
6) move shifter to "N"

My vehicle is push button start...

It's in your Acadia owner manual, George, under Dinghy Towing. The procedure is the same regardless of the type or brand of motorhome - the car doesn't care.
