Jondrew,
You are really fortunate to be able to get those larger straps. I purchased my ACME tow dolly last month and the straps are very small for my tires. I confirmed when I placed my order that the standard straps would fit my wide 20" tires and was told yes. I wasn't happy with how they looked so I send pics to ACME and got a reply back that said straighten the cross strap and I'm good to go. No offer of the larger straps. I'm still not comfortable with my straps but they worked on my first test. However, the metal self-closing hooks got bent up with the tire bouncing against them so they no longer close. I wish I had read this post earlier. Not real happy with this entire process even though I confirmed everything with the company prior to purchase and I've called twice with no callbacks.

A call the Acme sounds like a "should do". They have always been very responsive to my questions and requests.

And they are a sponsoring member here, so a PM on iRV2 is an additional contact method.

Best luck

Yes, I will give them another call when I get back home. Nothing can be fixed on this trip.

Either a 2003 VW Beetle TDI or 2013 Fiat 500C Abarth .... If there are nice roads and beautiful weather .... The Fiat mostly ... if I'm on call .... 2012 Toyota Sienna ... Hence the need for a dolly!!
I have lots to choose from .... The rest are rear wheel drivers!!

You should be fine with the Acme dolly since both of those vehicles have a smaller wheelbase and tire. We were really impressed with the quality and appearance of the dolly. Hopefully once we get our larger tire/wide wheebase issue resolved, we will be having happy travels also.

It's been a few years since I used a dolly, with the short wheelbase of the two cars .... Read some of the stories that the dollys with perminant ramps have done .... The Fiat is new so I would be a dead man if it got damaged !!! We picked up new last summer .... Yes it's the DW car!!
Yes hopefully you get the wheel strap issue sorted out, have you checked into a custom set? Sometimes tow truck suppliers will make and sell them!!! Just a thought!!
Good Luck!!

Hopefully the strap/large tire/wide wheelbase issue will be solved soon. We're working with Acme to get this resolved and I will post the resolution when all is done. Thanks for those additional ideas.

My 2 Cents

Ok, have to add mine. I had my Eze-Tow delivered to a friends manufacturing facility on Friday and picked it up today. It really is easy to assemble, just as advertised. I really am impressed. Towed it back to my condo, yes, condo, with my car and was able to get it into my small garage, and STILL get my Lexus RX350 in, by storing it vertically. Absolutely fantastic. Won't be towing with the RV until early June, but so far so good.

How long was it from the time you ordered it , to when it was delivered??
