I am about to put my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland eco-diesel in service as my next tow vehicle. I am curious what wiring harness owners with similar GC's have used for tow hookup?

I have a 2014 5.7L Summit. You can do your own harness with a few relays. Very easy and it's is a direct link to the motorhome so zero battery drain.
This video shows the steps. I purchased 4 conductor wire from McMaster that had a stronger second cover and then wrapped it in Tesa tape.
I used Blue ox and airforce one components. I was a bit nervous at first but the hardest part for me was getting the front nose off and installing the nuts on the bracket. You will see! On a summit the front clip has this retainer that needs to be pushed in and up at the same time. Once that's undone the rest is easy.

I think the curt wiring harness is much simpler. No testing, No cutting of the factory harness. Just plug and play

Have been going back and forth on reviewing the Grand Cherokee vs Aviator. One question a Jeep Dealer could not answer, is does the odometer reflect the miles while being towed as a Toad?
And I'll share, I'm leaning to dropping back to get an ECO Grand Cherokee if we go that route. Aviator's are a bit heavier, and also 'new' model. I like to let at least a full year go by on new models (And yep, based on the 2020 Explorer...). DW likes the interior of the Aviator, and a bit more room for storage. But the GC is also a more capable off road vehicle. Not going to be doing anything aggressive with either one of these, but basically the dirt roads we take our 07 CRV AWD on, would need to be handled by either of these. Positive the GC can do so and much more. Pretty confident the Aviator will do the dirt roads OK too. Need to do a back to back comparison drive between the Air Suspension GC and the Aviator.
Leaning towards the GC at this time...
And I thought I read somewhere that they had an Fiat/Chrysler approved Death Wobble Kit - so even though this may need to be added, does that not handle this problem? (It would open up more years used GC's to consider...).
Best to all,
Smitty

Interesting. I believe the Lincoln Dealer made a mistake, when he said the Aviator AWD is towable... (In hindsight, be he was thinking it could tow things, as opposed to being towed...).
So unless Lincoln can confirm Four Down Towable, the Aviator gets bumped. And the DW feels the Navigator is too large... Even the non Max... (And yep, it's a heavy one!!).
So looks like Aviator drops off our lists, and that makes the GC even more of a target!!!
