Guardian tow shield vs tow rock defender tow shield

Wondering if anyone has comments on which works best..the Roadmaster polyethylene Guardian tow shield or the Roadmaster tow defender tow shield...we are headed on a trip to Alaska and trying to buy the best protection for our new toad.

Sounds like you may need both in Alaska! :-)
We use the tow defender...two trips so far and no chips...

Last week we just got setup for towing. I purchased both the tow defender and the guardian. I would really like to keep our new Jeep chip free, as much as possible. Having both seem to give as much protection as possible. Unfortunately I only have 180 miles on it. Not much to report. When I called Roadmaster to talk about the products the tech person told me they sell both of them often to folks traveling to Alaska and call this the "Alaska Package".
