Having trouble with my 2014 Jeep Cherokee toad. I cannot shift the PTU into neutral.

All other shifting options work just fine. Any ideas or past experience on this issue would be appreciated. The replacement of the PTU is very expensive.

I work at a Jeep dealer as a tech. The shift fork doesn’t move with the dial settings. It does move with the N position. In the past I’ve had to replace the PTU due to the fork getting stuck. Hopefully that’s not the case, but it does sound that way!

I had this trouble once...and fought for about an hour. Turns out I wasn't following procedure correctly.
I think I wasn't pressing the brake pedal while the trans was in neutral and then pressing the transfer case neutral button. Never had an issue since.

Hope you can resolve with a PTU replacement.

Thanks Rich, I thought I’ve been doing it right for the last two years but, you never know, I tried it still will not go into neutral. Thanks anyway it was worth a try! I’m beginning to think I’m going to have to bite the bullet, and replace the PTU.
