What do you want to hitch to it? Car? trailer? What size?

The Vectra should already have a receiver for a hitch mounted on the back - probably a Class III (5000 lb capacity). A 2" square box?

In that era it was more usual to have a 3,500# towing limit. A 3,500# hitch has the same 2" square fitting as does a 5,000# or even 6,000# rating hitch. Our DSDP is 2" and rated for 6,000#'s as per the sticker on the hitch. However, Spartan says I can put a 10,000# hitch on it if I want and have no problems.

You buy the receiver according to the weight rating. standard tow bars are made for receivers with a 2" square receptacle, so you want a class III or IV receiver. A Class III is 5000 lb rated, so that's plenty for the truck. The question is whether there is a strong enough place to attach that receiver. Motorhomes of that vintage, especially gas chassis rigs with long rear overhangs, were notoriously light duty in the back end. The extension used to support the rear of the coach were mostly pretty wimpy, leading some to have tow ratings as low as 3500 lbs. Be very careful how the receiver is installed.
