Honda CRV horn

The horn on our 2013 CRV, like all Honda horns, sounds about like a cricket rubbing his legs together. In other words, practically useless!

Has anybody found a replacement that has a decent level of sound, and if so, how much of a problem was it to install?

Many years ago we would add horns to vehicles in certain cases where it was not possible to use the factory one to alert the owner of a radio call. We also flashed their lights.

Find your horn and put a voltmeter on it and earplugs on. Have someone push the horn button. Once you find out if it uses a ground or power you can buy a cheap horn at just about any auto parts store. You can use a relay if needed to operate it as well.

Believe me Myron, you don't need earplugs with my horn! Thanks!

Use this search term in google: crv horn upgrade

Lots of folks have easily made the change, for under $100.

I used to have a 2014 CRV and the horn was so anemic, I changed it out with a Honda Accord horn. If I remember correctly, it was an easy swap and nothing special was required. It had a much better alert tone.

Joe....on my Diplomat, it only had the air horn. I wanted something less obnoxious when I just wanted to give someone a quick toot. At the time, I worked near our fleet yard where wrecked radio cars were salvaged, many Ford Crown Victorias. They were pretty loud horns, with a good tone. I added them to the Diplomat and they worked well.

Found out that the 2019 Accord had dual horns. I don't think I have room for those!

Look into a Wolo horn. Inexpensive, easy instal, and loud enough to scare the crap out of anyone in range. You included.

This is what I ordered. It appears I have enough room to mount these horns. The reviews are great and I like the sound of them on the video!
