Honda CRV to 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

Purchased a used 2015 GC limited today with 20K miles and great Carfax report. My 2012 Honda CRV was a great car and towed great but had 80K miles and another 20K as a toad.
Would like to here from people who have a 2015 GC Limited to see what has to be done. I no I have to get a baseplate installed, but other that what did they do for lights and brakes?

There are a few threads here on a Grand Cherokee Wobble issue. Not sure if it applies to your year.

It started the year they changed over to EPS. If you have hydraulic lines going to the steering rack you're OK.

Nice Jeep. Enjoy

OP, you must have just wanted a newer vehicle! Honda's usually go 200,000 or more with very little trouble. My '05 Ody had 105,000 and another 40,000 towing. Sold it to someone that wanted a family vehicle and it's still going AFAIK.

Correct. The problem started with the EPS in the 2016 model year. Your 2015 should be fine for towing.

I just did the same a Honda for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. I installed the bx1128 blue ox base plate. I all so installed a blue ox light kit today . I worked on it for 8 hours today and I do not have any lights. I followed the instructions and I have done a few of these with good results. Is there anyone out there that has have the same problem?

scoooterbob what tow bar did you use for the CRV? Did you like it or are you looking to change brands? I'm a roadmaster fan, towed my CRV and now a Ram 1500, moved up from the falcon to sterling both performed well. On my CRV i had a hopkins taillight harness kit the kind the plugs into the factory connectors at the rear. Check Etrailer to see whats available for your GC. As an alternative you can use a diode kit, on the Ram I did mine myself, but I'm used to that kinda wiring projects. As for brakes I went with the RVI3 and I'm very pleased how it works as advertised ( check their site for videos) I would recommend it. Good luck on your research.

I have the Roadmaster all terrain tow bar on the motorhome. I am thinking about using Wireless tail lights.

Is it a light issue or base plate ?
