Honda Fit toad
Had anyone towed a 2011 Honda Fit automatic behind their motorhome? I have one but I've read conflicting reports about its towability.

Towed my 2010. Pretty sure any pre CVT honda is flat towable.
I did change my transmission fluid every 40000 miles

FMCA Tow Guides 2012 and 2010 Fits towable with special procedure described in Manual Don't have the 2011 guide.
Should be in your Manual. Follow the procedure.

We tow a 2009 Honda Fit Sport automatic behind our motorhome.
My understanding is that Honda Fit automatics could be towed, up to and including the 2014 model year. After that, no.
However, the owner's manual usually has the first and last word on towability and towing prep procedure. The manual for the 2011 non-Nav Fit (link here) has the important stuff on pages 240 through 243 (pages 246 through 249 of the PDF document). If you have a Nav Fit, see this manual.

I'm interested in the experiences of folks who have towed the 2011 Honda Fit for lengthy periods and how the car held up.

We have a 2012 Fit Sport Automatic that we have towed for 7 years. Follow the towing instructions in the manual (those listed under recreational towing) and change the transmission fluid every 30,000 towed miles and you will be fine.

How did towing affect the front tires on the Fit? Does it wear them out quicker than normal?

Looked pretty much the same as the rears when we got new tires at something close to 30,000 miles (which would be closer to 60,000 with towing) on the original tires.

Towed a 2010 Fit for years. We followed the manufacturers instructions and never exceeded the do not exceed speed of 65 mph. We never had a problem. An acquaintance was not so lucky and needed a new transmission and did admit to exceeding 65.

Had a 2010 auto fit sport, sold with about 130000 miles. Maybe 50000 towed miles. Changed trans oil every 40000 miles. Towed at 70 to 80 all the time.

As near as I can tell, the 2009 Fit and 2011 Fit are the same.
Our 2009 Fit (Sport automatic) has around 103,000 miles on the odometer. We have towed it another 22,500 miles. We tow with the winter tires on steel wheels; it's a time-of-year thing, the steel wheels are more durable than the alloys; the tires are more durable and less expensive. We have had no undue wear on the tires, or transmission problems. We service the transmission to account for the towing, as directed by the owner's manual.
We try to drive below 65 mph, but have been known to exceed that on occasion, generally for short periods.
The Fit is light enough and large enough inside to act as a rolling storage shed, without exceeding the tow limits for our coach. It has been a very satisfactory toad.

Just returned from our first trip towing our 2011 automatic. 8k miles and everything worked as expected. As of now, it’s driving perfectly normal.
