We are on our second CRV as a toad....no issues. BTW, all CRVs, 2014 and earlier, can be towed four down and all are automatic, no standard shift.

We LOVE our 2014 CRV It's the best thing we have ever towd. We have towed Jeeps, Saturn and a Suzuki. Honda is the best. We also love the READY BRAKE system with brake away and dash light to tell if brakes are set on the honda.

I think the CRV and the Element have pretty much the same running gear.

Honda CRV

The 2012 - 2014 Honda CRV is a hot mover. On other forums I recommend buying a certified CRV for a toad. We sell A Tow Car Shield at least once a week for this vehicle. One thing I really like about this car is that it does not have as many plastic parts or micro-processors built into it. Of course my RV rig is a 1977 Toyota Fj40 that pulls an off road trailer built by me. I can fix both of them.
