On two trips now with the reduced stroke of the braking cable I can report that the previous instability has been solved.
Previously any braking over about "medium" level would cause the toad brakes to over react and then release followed by overrun and repeat.
By reducing the response the toad now brakes proportionally without the ungodly oscillation.
