how to tow a 2017 ford F150

I just bought a new 2017 F150 4x4. It does not have a key to start the engine, I no how to get it in the tow position and ready to pull. I can't tell if the steering wheeling is unlocked. The local dealer told me it is supposed to stay locked but I no better that that. I burnt up two tires on a Saturn because I forget to leave it in the Acc position. Does anyone no if the steering wheel even locks on this truck. I think the 2015 and 2016 is the same way.

My 2016 has the keyless ignition. There is procedure in the owners maul describing how to put the transfer case in neutral. Follow those instructions and you are set to go.
Ignition is off. No steering wheel lock to worry about.
I've flat towed my F150 6000+ miles with no issues.

Love my truck!

True, towing 4 down the steering whel must be unlocked abd towing on a dolly the steering should be locked.
I would start the engine using the pushbutton and then configure all the towing settings and then just turn the engine off by hitting the button again and see it that leaves it in the proper configuration. You can easily tell if the steering is locked or not by turning it by hand.

If you have a key fob. And not a "key" then the steering wheel has no lock. I have. A 16 f150 and it tows Great.
I added my own toad lights as not to mess with factory wiring etc.

NOT ALWAYS TRUE! Dollys that have a swivel tire platform require locked steering, but those with a fixed platform (e.g. Acme) require unlocked steering.

Vehicles with a keyless ignition often do not have locking steering wheels. I've owned two of them (both GM cars) and neither locked the steering wheel. They use electronic anti-theft gadgets rather than locking the steering, which is usually tied to the key mechanism in the steering column.

If you can't tell by simply turning the steering wheel with the key off (it's hard but do-able), ask Ford if it has a steering wheel lock or not.
