Inclines and rear drag of toad setup

My new setup for my motorhome will require a 6" drop when hooking up the toad to ensure it's level when towing. My driveway is at somewhat of an incline, and while not steep, the rear end does drag (on the hitch) when entering and exiting. Wondering what others do when you encounter inclines where the rear end drags? My motorhome has an extended overhang and will drag somewhat on the driveway without the drop hitch and I'm worried what it might do to the towbar and associated hardware if it happens while towing . While I realize the obvious solution for the driveway is to wait and hook-up or disconnect after I leave, there have been other times on the road when I've unexpectedly encountered areas where this has happened and was unable to avoid it.

John-

Our hitch drop is only two inches, and yet I have to install the drop and towbar at a gas station two miles from our house, in order to avoid hitting the road surface at the bottom of our hill.

The best I can offer is:

1) the old standby- go through the transitions at an angle, if that helps, and
2) install a roller under the towbar stinger (link to one here). This actually make the problem worse, as it decreases clearance under the hitch. But, at least it's the first thing to hit, rather than the towbar.

When possible angling across the incline will help a bit, but we have the same problem and no easy solution that we have found so far. Might come to another toad that does not require as much hitch drop.

The tow bar would drag going up our driveway (current and previous MH) so I just take it off before pulling in the driveway.

If the angle is caused by a drainage dip in the road at your driveway you might fill with a few 2x8 boards to flatten it out.
Or if you have great hearing and the engine noise is not too loud maybe hand cowbells from he lowest point like we did when we used to go off roading in our jeep.
Third drive the toad in uncoupled to the MH

John, I've done this on two coaches now. The first photo is my 2014 Dutch Star. I had a hitch shop weld a second receiver to the bottom of the first. They weld it on and plate it on both sides. The added receiver gives you almost 4" more drop, without extending farther back, which may be enough to eliminate your drop hitch all together.

The second photo is my 2005 Diplomat where the same shop welded on a second receiver. The Diplomat sat a little lower, so I welded on a wheel. I would rather roll through a driveway than drag.

Another option.....they make metal wheels that attach to your two drag bars, but they're kind of cheesy and they can add another 3" - 4" to your lowest point.

My neighbor has the Fleetwood Fiesta, similar chassis, and made a better mouse trap. He took 2" square tubing, about 5" wider than the distance between the two drag bars. He welded metal wheels to the ends of the square tubing and then installed the square tubing inside the loops of the drag bars. He u-clamped the tubing to the drag bars. If you do it right, the wheels extend about a 1/2" or less lower than the drag bars, giving you the ability to roll through driveways, but doesn't exacerbate the issue by hanging down past the drag bars.
