Insurance

Do you have to notify your insurance company, that your about to start using your car for a toad vehicle?

Good question, I've never thought about it. I would guess not as it's no different than if you broke down on the side of the road and had to be towed.

One thing I do though.... all my vehicles are insured by the same company, so if there is an issue, there is no pointing fingers at each other.

No worries. Your car's insurance covers everything it does, whether the engine is running or not. Driven or towed. And whether the claim is damage done by it (liability) or to it (collision or Comprehensive). Your insurer doesn't care except for the total miles traveled. I guess you should include towed miles (they don't show on the odometer) when and if your insurer asks about annual mileage.
